This can be a symtom of having an older visual studio runtime get installed atop the one shipped with World Machine. This should not happen, but sometimes the real world does not agree. 🙂 This is particularly likely if WM previous worked, but some time later, suddenly stops.
You can always download and install the latest runtime directly from Microsoft. Try that, and if WM continues to not work, contact our Support Helpdesk.
